Creating Character: Authentic Movement for Actors
This workshop gives the actor time and space to access active imagination and personal narrative through the body. Specific tasks guide the actor toward integrating the intuitive material—gesture, image, embodied stillness—into creating character. We practice embodying “the other” with greater ease, imagination and clarity. Bring a memorized monologue and an accessory, prop or piece of clothing that helps you identify with the character.
